Galway Tattoo Show With Cotton Face Vintage

Hi!

A few weeks ago I helped out at the Cotton Face stall at the Galway Tattoo Show.

Lovely stuff, as per usual!

It was the Second Annual Tattoo Show; with both Irish and International tattoo artists set up in stalls in the Radisson Hotel in Galway for the weekend, along with a market, tattoo competitions, food and entertainment.

I didn't get any tattoos, unfortunately, but it was lovely to walk around the convention and see all the different artists and styles they were all doing; and I got some great ideas for my own future tattoos!

Here are some pictures I took of the Cotton Face stall.

Always forget to take my feet out of the shot!

The Jungle

Hello Hello!

So, what I have I got to show you today?

Well this week I did a shoot with my friend and stylist, Mary Martin, of Thine Eyes.

It was really interesting actually, it's all about the deterioration of a girl who lost her love and bla bla. Just like this hotel; she is abandoned. I won't say too much on that, as I have a similar one coming up, so I don't want my next one to seem too unoriginal!

We were in an abandoned hotel, and shot a four page spread, so watch out for those.

We could not have found a better location, and it was actually pretty fun exploring the old place. Everywhere was completely smashed, but you'll see that as the shoot goes on.

It starts off here, and gets darker, angstier and angrier as the shoot goes on.

Galway Designer and Blogger Showcase: Behind the Scenes

Hey Guys,

I'm sure, by now, you have all seen my posts on the Galway Designer and Blogger Showcase (yeah, sure thing, Tamsin!) so I thought I'd share some of my photos from behind the scenes.

I loved being able to stroll around Monroe's Live and see the light and sound engineers quietly setting up in the front, and then the excitement all of the fashion crowd in the green room.

There were make up artists, hairdressers, models and photographers everywhere you looked, the energy was a little electric, actually!

I sat down in the front, then, and added the final touches to my speech before it was showtime.

I hope there is another of these sort of events on soon, I had such a great night!

Look Book Shoot for Cotton Face

Hi Everyone :)

So, I had quite an exciting weekend, this week!

I  was helping out at Cotton Face Vintage, helping style some look books for their new website cotton-face.com. It was a beautiful, sunny day at the beach in Spiddal, Co. Galway, where were shooting with the very talented photographer, Lisa Griffin, who came down from Dublin for the day, with model and friend Deirdre Feeney, and of course, the owner of Cotton Face, the lovely Sinead Lally.

It was so much fun, we shot about 7 looks from Sinead's new stock that she just individually sourced in Paris and other pieces from the winter collection.

I wont show you pictures and ruin the surprise, but definitely keep an eye out here, and on Facebook for when the shoot is live on the site!

Here are the links to Cotton Face, Its Facebook and Instagram and Lisa Griffin Photography and Her Facebook.

I really can't wait to see the final shots, from what I saw, they're going to be amazing!

Watch this space for the final product :)

OOTD 16/09/14

Hello Lovelies,

I went back to college last Tuesday!

I'm delighted to be back, and even more delighted to see everyone again.

This is what I was wearing, everything is sourced from my two favourite shops TK Maxx and vintage shops, credits are below.

I'm currently working on a post all about college, which I will post soon, once we all get into the swing of things and settle into our classes, which I hope you'll find interesting; I would have loved some insight into courses like this when I was starting college!

I also have a few more posts in the pipeline, which I'm quite annoyed are taking so long, so apologies!

Let me know what you think of this post, I'd love to hear from you!

A/W 14 Trend: 60's

I thought I'd mix it up a bit from the same old outfit posts and do a few trend reports that interest me from this season; ones that I can't wait to try out. I have always been interested in high-fashion so it's abut time I share that with you all!

The first one that I have noticed features quite heavily this season is the return of the swinging sixties!

A-line coats, baby doll dresses and knee-high boots can be seen paired with Kohl-rimmed eyes and tousled bee-hives.

Large lapels, thigh-high hems and polo necks feature heavily in earth tones at Louis Vuitton, which is the first collection for designer Nicholas Ghesquier since he left Balenciaga last year.

Miuccia Prada plays with a sort of school-girl silhouette at Miu-Miu with mini skirts and ski jackets in sweet pastels and primary brights, tied together with charcoals and navies.

While at Valentino, baby-doll dresses with brocade collars, Art-Deco prints and capes prevail.

Not forgetting, of course, Topshop's latest campaign featuring Cara Delevigne, with this Chelsea girl leopard print mini and biker jacket, with Kohl-rimmed eyes and Brigitte Bardot-esque hair.

I'll definitely be doing more trend reports so if there's anything you would like to read about, let me know!

Meadow

So, ok. This isn't really shot in a meadow, it's my front garden, but that's not nearly as good a title!

Here's a quick outfit of the day that my sister, Sarah, shot before going on an adventure to Tk Maxx (where I found an amazing book on the history of couture!).

I usually wear this shirt belted, as a dress; but today I just rolled it up and tied it in a knot, and as for the dress, well you might think I'm wearing the shirt to be pretty, or whatever, when really, I'm afraid to say, that I burst the dress really badly when I wore it to see Disclosure a while ago! Oops. That's what I get for buying clothes that don't fit, I suppose.

Also, I'm wearing odd socks. I know, you don't need to tell me. But they're very similar so I don't see too much of a problem.

Anyway guys, see you on the flip!
